The MA in Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution at the University of Bradford is offered by the Department of Peace Studies and International Development. The university describes the department as an internationally recognised centre with more than 50 years of experience in peace research and education.
The program develops students’ understanding of the causes and dynamics of conflict and violence in a range of settings. It supports students in making informed judgements about conflict engagement, assessing different approaches to intervention, and considering critical questions around peacebuilding in different contexts. Core areas include applied conflict research, theories and practices of conflict resolution, creative practice in conflict engagement and peacebuilding, and dissertation work.
The standard route is full-time over one year. Students may choose to include an internship or placement as part of the course, in which case the study period extends to 15 months. The program includes practical and applied elements, such as policy briefs, case study analysis, reflective work, simulations, study visits, and dissertation research.
