Drugs, drug use, drug policy and health is a free online public health course offered by the Université de Genève in Switzerland. A beginner level class, the course is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about drug addiction and its effects on public health. The class is self-paced, so students are free to work through the video lecture series and supplemental assignments at a rate that is ideal for their specific needs. Students receive 23 hours of instruction in all. The instructor suggests that students spread the coursework out over a six-week period, spending three to four hours on the course each week. By completing the course, students will receive an understanding about the health impact of drug use and drug policy. The class also examines the controversies and debates surrounding drug policy.
