In a quest to make sure that the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is achieved, Conversations with Global Leaders: Leading on Sustainable Development has been set up. Both the SDG Academy and Club de Madrid came together to create this unique course. It will last for 8 weeks with students required to dedicate an average of 3 hours to participate in the course every week.
This course involves a series of live sessions where Prof. Jeffrey Sachs will be interviewing several world leaders. Some of the well-known global business and state leaders that will be participating in these sessions include Ban Ki-moon, Juan Manuel Santos, Gro Harlem Brundtland, and Paul Polman. These leaders will discuss different issues related to inclusive and effective leadership and how it can bring about the change that the world needs.
This course allows you to learn about the way change occurs as well as how organizations and governments sustain it. Through these sessions, you will also learn about the difficult policy decisions that these leaders often have to make. The leaders will talk from different perspectives that concern sustainable development. This enables the course to cover areas such as how to deal with climate change and how to foster and preserve human rights.
Conversations with Global Leaders: Leading on Sustainable Development is meant for everyone. However, it is specifically targeted at policy professionals, private-sector experts, undergraduate and graduate students, and other professionals whose works concern the Sustainable Development Goals.
