Conflict Management Project

Offered by
University of California
Duration
5 hours
Length
1 weeks

This capstone course serves as the culminating applied component of the Conflict Management Specialization, requiring learners to integrate and operationalize concepts from earlier courses such as Types of Conflict, Conflict Resolution Skills, and Intercultural Communication. Rather than introducing new theory, the course focuses on practical application through a structured project.

Learners develop a comprehensive conflict management portfolio based on a real or selected case. This includes analyzing the nature of the conflict, identifying stakeholder roles and power dynamics, examining incompatible goals, and selecting appropriate communication and resolution strategies. The course emphasizes diagnostic rigor and strategic planning, guiding participants to design an integrated action plan for managing and resolving conflict.

Through peer review and iterative feedback, participants refine their analysis and presentation. By the end, learners produce a structured case study and portfolio that demonstrates their ability to apply conflict management frameworks in complex, real-world scenarios.
